Vive la musique! Vive l’amour! Vive la France!
Our voyage stretches from Paris to Provence and from the Revolution to modern times. The program features favorites and lesser-known gems by Hector Berlioz, Camille Saint-Saëns, Jacques Offenbach, François Gosse, Serge Lance, Darius Milhaud and Claude Debussy, who celebrates his 150th birthday this year. The concert will also feature a few pieces performed with Saint Mark’s organist, John Richardson.
Atlanta Freedom Bands is offering two for one tickets to Saint Mark members when purchased in advance of the show. Click here to purchase your tickets. You can also join the band's Facebook page to keep up with the latest news and concert information.
Man is it hot! But if you think it’s hot around here, just imagine being with our mission team down in Honduras! Down in La Ceiba it is not only as hot as it is here, it’s about three times as humid. Still, our mission team is working on building a new church, sending medical help out into the village areas, and teaching vacation bible school.
If you have not checked out the progress of our team, be sure to visit the blog that Harvey Oaxaca keeps for us. You will love the pictures and the daily reports. The folks in this area are desperately poor, and yet they greet us each year with such love and hospitality. They open their churches and schools and homes to us and the relationships we have built with them over the years is truly heartwarming. On the blog you will get to see pictures of Emilio, who is training to be a teacher because of your support of the Honduras education fund, Elder, who is training to be a nurse; and Jose who has finished his nurses training. You will get to see pictures of the kids we support through the Feed the Children program. And you will get a small taste of what it is like to go there until you decide to join the team yourselves.
I encourage all of you to be in prayer for our team, and to go online to stmarkumchonduras2012.blogspot.com and see what they are doing with your support. It is a great work of mercy and Christian fellowship that we are able to do because you have given us the means. May God return such blessings to you for the blessings you have given others.
Yours as always, Beth

Cash donors to the Capital Campaign!
Now is the time to send in your checks! Closing is scheduled for the last week of July, so if you committed to giving up a gift up front, now is the time to send it to Deana Hilton in the church office. Thanks to you, we will soon have a new mortgage with an interest rate that is over a point lower than our last one!
Thanks for all you do! - Beth
Congratulations, Saint Mark!
Once again, Saint Mark has been voted “Best House of Worship” for the third year in a row by The Georgia Voice! Many thanks to all who voted!
But Wait! There's More!
We have just learned that we have been nominated in two categories in Fenuxe magazine's Best of Atlanta 2012! One nomination is the category that we won last year: Best House of Worship. The other category is Best Chorus Line / Choir. So click here to vote now. But hurry! Voting ends Wednesday, July 11.
Sewing Reconciling Stoles
Giselle Lawn, who is on the board of Reconciling Ministries Network, has suggested that Saint Mark take on a great project to make 300 stoles for Reconciling Ministry Network friends and allies to wear at Annual Conference. We are seeking volunteers to sew the short stoles, using a simple pattern that we can provide. The more volunteers, the lighter the work! And, friends in other churches and states are welcome to help. For more information, contact Giselle Lawn or Rev. Mandy Flemming.
“Grease is the word!” See a Movie with the ARC!
Join us for the 2012 season of Movies in Central Park at Atlantic Station. Grab a blanket or a lawn chair, pack a picnic, and hang out in Central Park with friends from Saint Mark’s Activities and Recreation Committee to watch a free movie. Look for the blue Saint Mark tarps and bring your own drinks and snacks. We’ll see Grease this Thursday, July 12 and The Notebook on August 2. For more details, contact Larry Lucas, 404-688-2847.
